ABOUT ROXANA
Romanian born pianist Roxana Bajdechi Frizzi has appeared as a soloist as well as a chamber musician in Europe, Asia, and the US. After moving to Boston to further her studies, and joining the dynamic and diverse musical community of the area, Mrs. Frizzi decided to make her home in the US. She currently resides in Hamilton, MA, where she enjoys the exciting and fulfilling blend of her performing and teaching careers.
Mrs. Frizzi grew up in Constanza, Romania, where she started taking piano lessons at the age of 5. Her musical sensitivity and pianistic talent soon emerged and, at the age of eight, she was awarded the First Prize at the Mozart Piano Competition in her home town. The following years were to bring many other awards and prizes. Mrs. Frizzi now holds close to twenty such distinctions, including the Valentino Bucchi Prize (Rome, Italy), and an Award from the National Critics Association of Romania. During the last few years, she received an Honorary Award from the Ovidius University (Constanta, Romania), a Diploma of Excellence from the National Radio Society of Romania for promoting Romanian culture worldwide, and she most recently became a proud recipient of the 2016-2021 Steinway & Sons Top Teacher Award for outstanding instruction and leadership in piano education.
